 The prospect shows the location of the 6th SETAC-Europe Meeting. May 19 – 22, 1996 which took place in Giardini Naxos Taormina, Italy. The LCA session of the congress present the largest scientific LCA event held to date (--> Editorial, p. 121). Selected LCA papers from this meeting will be published in special issues of Int. J. LCA, this issue being the first (--> pp. 122 – 146). The picturesque elements of the meeting site correspond ideally with the importance of this LCA event: Mount Athena and Mediterranean Sea as viewed from the position of the Greek Theatre where Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once (April 7th, 1787) described it as, “the most beautiful sight of the world”.
