Education:
Ph.D., Inorganic/Organometallic Chemistry - Florida State University.

Academia: worked as a research associate at the Ruhr-Universitaet in Bochum West Germany and at the University of Alabama in the USA (total of three years).
Attended more than twenty continuing education programs in the areas of analytical chemistry, management and applications software.

Highlights of Relevant Expertise:

Independent Chemical Analysis Services:

· Currently providing analytical services as a small independent company. The offered services are in the areas of chromatography (GC/MS, HPLC/GPC, Spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence), optical microscopy and various classical analytical techniques. Services are provided to clients in industrial, environmental, biotech, semiconductor, disk drive, petroleum as well as other institutions.
· Active in method development using new approaches to old problems.

Management of analytical and materials analysis services with the following companies:

· Quantum Corporation – disk drive manufacturer in Milpitas, California.

· Abtox Inc. – a venture capital biotech company in Pleasanton, California.

· Spectra-Physics – a chromatography equipment manufacturer in San Jose, California

· General Electric Company in Mt. Vernon, Indiana

Contract Research and Environmental Services at Battelle in Columbus, Ohio:

Worked for six years as a Project Manager at one of the leading applied research contractors, Battelle Columbus Laboratories. Managed several EPA projects involving method development and validation for waste water and solid waste samples. Was the Project Manager for the failure analysis effort to identify the root cause of the cracking of the inconel tubes in the steam generator coolant system of the Three Mile Island Plant II. Coordinated the coast to coast expert meetings to produce a plausible scenario for the failure. Supervised the analysis of water and metal corrosion samples. Was instrumental in implementing an on-line ion chromatography system for water analysis.
Managed the Inorganics Analysis Group at Battelle which provided metals, ions and inorganic pollutants analysis in water matrices utilizing ion chromatography (IC), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), atomic absorption (AA) and general colorimetric and electrochemical and wet analysis techniques.

Special Area of Interest - Water Purification:

· Was heavily involved in implementing and modifying the specifications for ultra-pure water used in the disk drive industry based on the stringent semiconductor industry standards. Was instrumental in the selection of the industrial water purification system for the Quantum Corporation and for monitoring the performance of that system using IC and ICP with optical (AES) and mass spectrometric (MS) detection.

· As a member of an entrepreneur group, developed a business plan for producing and analyzing a table top drinking water purification system that has advantages over the existing products.

· Experience with the Abtox Inc. that focused on the sterilization of medical devices, provided an understanding of microbiology and testing for device and water safety.
