Responsible for the development and implementation of logistics solutions (warehousing and transportation programs) to global manufacturers, including:
- Project Management: being responsible for an average of 4 projects at any given time, I led teams through the development of logistics programs in the U.S., Mexico, and China.
- Sales & Marketing: participated in presentations to promote company strategy and sell designed logistics solutions.
- Transportation Design: performed technical analyses focusing on optimizing transportation systems (cost savings and operational effectiveness), data collection, mode and equipment selection, load consolidation, pooling and routing.
- Warehouse Design: developed warehouse layouts, material flow, and equipment selection.
- Costing: created budgets for transportation and warehousing programs, including personnel, equipment, facility, IT systems, implementation, and transportation costs.
- Financial Analysis: based on budgets and pricing schemes, I assessed programs’ profitability. I was also responsible for pricing negotiations with selected customers.
- Proposal Development: developed proposals to external customers, integrating operational, information technology, pricing/budget, and implementation solutions.
1998/1999: Emery Global Logistics – Logistics Analyst / Redwood Shores – CA
- Coordinated implementation of an "Aftermarket Parts Distribution" program for an automotive manufacturer in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This program consisted in the distribution of auto parts from 2 warehouses to over 400 automotive dealers across Brazil. The tasks I was personally involved included personnel hiring & training, design of operational procedures, coordination of IT development, and “go live” management.
- Developed logistics proposals and presentations to automotive customers.
- Developed pricing models and transportation rates analyses.
1997: Stora Purchasing and Transport – Research Analyst / Gothenburg – Sweden
- Assessed and compared environmental impacts of two rail transportation corridors.
- Created a simulation model to determine congestion levels of railway lines.
