Curriculum vitae:Zijian Wang was undergraduated from China University of Science and Technology and jointed Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences in 1976. During 1983-1985, he worked in Forel Institute in Geneva University and EAWAG in Zurich, Switzerland on surface complexation issues. In 1987, he worked in Pharmaceutical Department in Fukoka University for analysis of biogenic substances. From 1992-1995, he was deputed director of State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry and became director in 1996-2000. He is associated chief editor of Acta Scientiae Circumstantiae, chief editor of Asian Journal of Ecotoxicology, as well as members of editorial boards of several journals, such as China Journal of Environmental Chemistry, Wetland Research and Environmental Science and Health (A).
The research group headed by Prof. Zijian Wang focuses on water quality assessement and ecotoxicology. The research activities cover development of innovative sampling and bioassay procedures, evaluation and risk assessment of water and sediment quality using chemical analysis and bioassays/biomarkers, models for prediction of fate and environmental behavior of chemical contaminants in aquatic ecosystem, and health risk assessment for drinking water.
He has authored and/or co-authored 230 peer reviewed papers in journals such as ES&T, ET&C, JEQ, EHP, EP, Chemosphere, Water Research, Aquatic Toxicology, European Journal of Soil Science, Plant and Soil, Analytical Chemistry, et al. He has 8 patented inventions and more than 13 National and Ministerial awards.
