(in mechanical engineering), Ph.D. and D.Sc. from the Poznan University of Technology (PUT), Poland. He was first engaged in the areas of tribology, reliability and maintenance of technical objects. - - - In the last 15 years Zbigniew Klos is active in the field of different aspects of quality, with special emphasis on environmental criteria. Since 1994, he is Professor at PUT in the fields of quality and sustainable development. In the years of 1993-1996, and since 1999: Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Machines and Vehicles, PUT. Since 1995: head of the Life Cycle Assessment and Sustainable Management Group at PUT. - - -
Zbigniew Klos has been a member of several SETAC-Europe Workgroups: LCA and Conceptually Related Programmes, LCA Case Studies and Scenario Development, active also in LCANET and CHAINET. - - - Currently, he is a member of the COST Management Committee (COST Materials Action 530 - Sustainable Materials Technology. Life Cycle Inventories for Environmentally Conscious Manufacturing Processes). - - - His main areas of interests are: LCAs of technical objects, especially machines, application of LCA in Design for Environment and implementation of LCM in economies of Polish and CEE countries. - - -
