Since 1981 until now his scientific interests are connected with studies of in vitro plant cell cultures and plants, in particular:
- their utilization for production and biotransformation of biologically active secondary metabolites and
- degradation (or accumulation) studies of xenobiotics (nitroaromatics, pesticides, toxic metals, radionuclides), including both small and large-scale applications.
His publication activities include over 90 original papers, 4 book chapters, 172 posters and other papers, 65 lectures and 12 patents.
