Curriculum vitae:Ing. Carolin Spirinckx was born on March 6, 1971, in Diest, Belgium. She graduated as industrial chemical engineer in 1993 and specialised in environmental technologies and management in 1994. In 1995, she started her carrier as scientist at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (Vito) in the expertise centre of Integral Environmental Studies. Since then she is member of the scientific staff of Vito where she build up a comprehensive knowledge in the field of sustainable chain management. She has been involved in the performance of different LCA-projects in which widely differing product types have been analysed, with both government and industry as target groups. In this framework she also communicates the LCA-philosophy and the results of LCA case studies by means of presentations and training courses. At the same time, she is also actively involved in feasibility studies in the framework of the European Ecolabel. Besides the LCA-related activities, Carolin is also member of the PREPARE network that brings together officials and experts from most European countries working in the field of cleaner production and waste minimisation. Furthermore, she represents Belgium in the European Roundtable of Cleaner Production (ERCP) as a board member. - Since 2002, she belongs to the editorial board of Int J LCA.
