Since 1998 Managing Partner at E2 Management Consulting Ltd., a Swiss consultancy specialised in environmental and sustainability-oriented management. E2 clients include banks and insurance companies, machinery, food, tourism and other industries as well as the Swiss Federal administration. In developing environmental management, E2 clients often use ecobalance - the institution-oriented application of LCA methodology - as a planning and controlling tool.
Currently (2001), E2 is developing social performance indicators for the financial industry (www.spifinance.com), after having developed environmental performance indicators (www.epifinance.com). Before joining E2, Dr. Arthur Braunschweig was founding director of ÖBU, the Swiss Association for Ecologically Conscious Management, where he led working groups and developed ecobalance methods for companies. He is a trained economist and has worked at IBM for three years. He did research and is teaching on environmental management and ecobalance/LCA at various universities. Numerous publications on environmental management, ecobalancing/LCA and ecological economics, e.g. on ecological tax reform. He is a member of the ÖBU board and active for the scientific quarterly GAIA as well as the Int. J.
