For a long time he has been working in nitrogen and carbon transformations in soil including soil biotechnology of those problems. Practical results he finalized in areas of mineral nitrogen and organic fertilizers use.
Now he is working in soil use and soil management theory including legal aspects of soil protection needs.
He is director of Soil Science and Conservation Research Institute in Bratislava (from 1995) and professor of Agricultural University in Nitra (1998).
He published 261 papers, 68 of them abroad and is author or co-author of 6 scientific books.
