Curriculum vitae:Education: Studies in Chemistry, University of Marburg (1969-1973); Ph.D.: University of Marburg, Department Physiological Chemistry (1976), enzymatic properties of a aminoacylase; post-doc until Dec. 1977. Thereafter research scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology (now: Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology). Since 1983 head of department Ecological Chemistry. - Current research interests: Occurrence and fate of chemicals in the environment, exposure of organisms, soil and groundwater protection, methods for the assessment of soil quality.
Additional: Member of the board of devision Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology of the German Chemical Society, member of the IUPAC Commission on Soil and Water Chemistry, National Expert on OECD Test Guidelines for Environmental fate, one of the three Editors-in-Chief of the Journal of Soils and Sediments, member of the editoral board of the journals ´Umweltwissenschaften und Schadstoff-Forschung´ and ´Bodenschutz´.
