She has completed her Ph.D. in environmental biology at the Jagiellonian University in 1994. Her background concerns environmental education and environmental biology. She has worked on environmental and educational issues for the last 10 years (1991-2001). Her main research interests are: environmental awareness issues of adults and school children, societal perceptions of nature, and environmental issues and their implications for formal and non-formal environmental education in Poland. - - -
She has leaded national and international scientific and educational projects focusing on issues connected with environmental and ecological education issues. Dr Grodzinska-Jurczak lectures Ecological Education courses to students of Biology and Environmental Protection faculties and to Nature teachers of primary schools. - - -
She has also consulted in various national and international companies and programs (e.g. CH2MHill, US-AID Local Environmental Project), and organized, coordinated and lectured TEMPUS (Central European University and Stevens Point University Summer Schools). - - -
Dr. Grodzinska-Jurczak is a member of national and international organisations such as the ´Association of University Departments of Environmental Sciences in Europe´, ´North American Association for Environmental Education´, ´European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists - Polish Division´. She is an author of educational programs, curricula and course contents for school children, university students and teachers. She has authored two text books for students, one teachers´ manual, educational curricula and 50 scientific articles on topics related to environmental biology and environmental education. - - -
