30 years experience in the evaluation of health, safety, and environmental implications
of alternative technologies. Since 1993 he has served as the Associate
Director of Argonne National Laboratory’s Environmental Assessment Division,
which focuses on interdisciplinary health and environmental assessments of
federal facilities, alternative energy systems, and related industrial developments.
His current research interests focus on development and implementation of
holistic environmental decision processes that consider a broad range of man-agement
options and associated aggregate, cumulative risks. Understanding
and giving consideration to how society varies in its valuation of the impacts and
trade-offs is a critical component of more effective decisions. | | Areas of interest: | | | Articles: | 10 ESPR Special (1) 1-2 (2003), Reflections on the Chernobyl Accident and the Future of Nuclear Power 7 ESPR_Special (2) 13-20 (2000), Integrated Risk and Impact Assessments for Complex Contaminated Sites
