His present activities include environmental risk estimations of chemicals by the use of fate modelling. With regard to persistent organic pollutants (POPs), the ambient temperature appears to be very important to their fate and levels in the environment due to the temperature dependence of their physical properties.
Further, QSAR estimations of their chemical properties as a function of temperature were motivated by the recent interest in bioaccumulation of synthetic musks in water ecosystems. | | Areas of interest: | | fate modelling | | persistent organic pollutants (POPs) | | QSAR | | synthetic musks | | water ecosystems | | |
