Curriculum vitae:Guido Sonnemann is Associate Programme Officer working with UNEP’s Division of Technology Industry and Economics (DTIE), Production and Consumption Unit in Paris. His responsibilities are within the Sustainable Consumption programme where he is working on the linkages between consumption and production as the secretariat co-ordinating the UNEP/ SETAC (Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) Life Cycle Initiative which promotes the use of life cycle approaches for sustainable product and service design.

Before joining UNEP DTIE in 2002, Guido worked as consultant with the Chemical Technology Centre of Tarragona/Spain, where his main area of focus also was on life cycle approaches. Guido Sonnemann holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University Rovira & Virgili, Spain (2002) and graduated from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany (1995) with a specialisation in environmental engineering. He is author of several papers in the field of Life Cycle Assessment and Management.
